Our Story
Reed's farm is a small family-owned farm on Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. Benjamin Reed purchased the farm sometime after 1850, erecting our still-in-use barn in 1874.
The farm is now on it's sixth generation of ownership, with Bruce and Susan Reed. They operate the farm with their children and a few beloved employees. Bruce purchased the farm as a sheep and hay farm in 1985 from his father.
In the early 90's, it was hard to keep up with the sheep and the children, so they discontinued the sheep, and focused on crops.
Bruce planted some sweet corn as a way for his nephews to gain work experience picking and selling corn, and the corn was a hit! Since about 1993, Bruce and Susan have been selling sweet corn at the intersection of Reed Road and West Lake Road (State Route 14).

The farm was chosen as part of the April 2025 photo contest which showcased the innovative, climate-smart practices that farmers use to protect the farmland, air, and water that grows the food that nourishes our communities and sustains us.

Geneva Farms get 'Lake Friendly' Designation
Reed's Farm was selected alongside Vince DeBoover Farms as "Lake Friendly," which recognizes agricultural operations for implementing exceptional soil and water conservation practices. These awards highlight farmers who mitigate runoff, prevent nutrient loss, and protect local watersheds.
Local Collaborations
Many of our products are utilized throughout the community, primarily sweet corn. Some of our collaborations have included Spotted Duck Frozen Custard, Fox Run Vineyard Cafe, West Lake Road Fire Association (WLRFA), and others.
